In 1969 Felix Richard Jr. and Madlyn Richard established Felix & Madlyn Bail Bonds, one of the first African American bail bond agencies in the City of Pasadena-California. The future of Felix and Madlyn Bail Bonds and Service Center became apparent. It’s mission statement was expanded to establish itself in the community as an innovative, technology driven taxation company that specialized in personalized business services for individuals and small to medium sized company’s and to nurture long term relationships with their clients while offering services to meet all of their business needs.
In 1997, Felix and Madlyn announced their plans to retire. Their youngest son, Ishmael Trone, who had worked in the family business preparing taxes, terminated his 21 year contract with the State of California as an independent sponsor disbursing federal and state funds, to run the family business.
In 2000, Ishmael purchased the business and commercial property from his parents, renamed the company to F&M, becoming the 2nd generation owner continuing the family tradition of providing quality business services to the community. The company mission statement was amended to include the objective of providing its clients additional business services to efficiently develop, manage and expand their businesses by incorporating financial and real estate consultants to to the company portfolio to provide a larger range of professional services, creating a “One-Stop Shop”.
In 2006 F&M collaborated with Unyque Financial, a real estate and mortgage company from Diamond Bar- California, creating a taxation and real estate company.
F&M has established itself as one of the premiere business service centers in the City of Pasadena understanding the critical nature of proactive purposeful client services. Our clients over the years have prospered from our rich history of dedication to provide modern technologically driven business services that cater to their daily business needs. In the new millennium F&M has focused on minimizing their footprint on the environment by converting into a environmentally friendly green business service office.
Meet the team of professionals
Ishmael Trone is a licensed CTEC tax preparer and Notary Public who has served the Pasadena community as a businessman and entrepreneur for over 30 years. From 1981-1999 he coordinated program and administrative services for a private non-profit organization contracted with the California Department of Education to disburse federal and state funds to licensed childcare facilities. During that period, he disbursed over 40 million dollars to day care home providers and childcare centers to serve nutritious meals to community children. In 2000 he developed F&M, a taxation and real estate company to provide quality business services to a community with limited business resources. In 2009, he founded Ideal Youth Incorporated to provide summer internship and entrepreneur opportunities to high school and college students
Throughout his professional career, as an entrepreneur he has partnered with investors in various real estate ventures, assisted numerous clients in creating various successful businesses and has assembled a network of highly skilled professionals to provide the community with a wealth of business resources. He also has civic duties with the City of Pasadena as the Chair of a redevelopment advisory body, vice-chair of a community development committee and committee member for the Rose Bowl renovation project. Organization affiliations include Board Member of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce.
Luna Petty began her career in mortgages in 1998 while attending California State University, Los Angeles, majoring in broadcast communications with the aspirations of becoming a journalist. The first step in her real estate journey was a position as a telemarketer, dialing for dollars as she paid her way through college. She transitioned to the loan processing department where her inquisitive nature and talent for quick analysis lead her into different aspects of the real estate industry thereby giving her the knowledge of the qualifications lenders are looking for to close a loan quickly and efficiently. She has extensive education and training in the fields of Real Estate and Business Law, Real Estate Finance, Business Communications, and Economics. Luna opened her first real estate loan office in 2003 in Covina, Calif. In its first year, the office closed over $15 million in home loans. In 2005 her offices expanded to Orange County and Diamond Bar, Calif. In 2006 Unyque Financial collaborated with F & M, a business services and taxation company from Pasadena- California, creating a taxation and real estate home loan company.
Today Luna is a licensed Mortgage Broker, Notary Public and Certified Tax Preparer. In selecting the right home loan she is focused on the clients overall investment portfolio and financial plan. Her longevity is undoubtedly due to her commitment to treating every client individually and striving to find the best product for their own individual needs. Luna also contributed regularly to Crown City News as print and on-air reporter. She had a column in the Pasadena Journal on-line, is a past board member for Pasadena Neighborhood Housing and presently serves as a Founding member of the Board of Directors for Ideal Youth, a Pasadena based non-profit organization which provides youth summer internship opportunities.
